Haiti Update January 13th 2009

Within the last twelve hours we personally have had the relieving news that the orphanage we support in Codere, the school in Les Cayes, the Mission House and our other contacts that are closer to Port-au-Prince are ALL in tact! NO injuries, or damage. As you well know that is not the case for so many.

Arne Yaghsizian was scheduled to go to Haiti January 25, with a team of 20 led by Pastor Lubin Beaucejour to Les Cayes. Lubin will depart in the next few days to assess the conditions, devise strategies, and report back to the team.

Of course everyone wants to get there as soon as possible to be of help, joining MANY humanitarian organizations that are focusing their efforts on Port-au-Prince recovery.

Among the many fine organizations committed to relief for Haiti, Jazz'd 4 Life has a long time partnership with BEMHaiti.I know these people will get direct help to those who come to them from Port-au-Prince. There will be an influx of people coming to live outside of P-a-P because it will take months even years for that city to recover. There is an infrastucture of support and care already in place through the BEM Network.

We thank you for you concern, and your prayers, and will keep you updated. Many Blessings, Arne and Catherine Yaghsizian
